The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of an accounting department. Leading the monthly close process, overseeing accounting tasks, and ensuring proper accounting procedures are followed. 

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a strong work ethic, creative mindset, excellent communication skills, knowledge of accounting and finance practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The Accounting Manager should drive to improve the accounting and finance processes that support business growth, strengthen relations between staff and the organization, and promote the organization’s culture and values.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead for the accounting and finance team in coordinating the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Key support for the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements for VVA.
  • Collaborates with VVA management to develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, operational metrics, and analysis for VVA.
  • Suggests and defines policies to improve accounting accuracy and educates other departments on proper procedures.
  • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
  • Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, and payroll.
  • Prepares reporting and analysis for executive and operational management.
  • Assists with the administration of various business software and supports business users with utilization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Functional Knowledge – Financial Management, familiarity with the full cycle accounting, and a broad understanding of GAAP. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory controls, and sales tax obligations.
  • Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, plus five years of related experience.

The Ag Service Technician/Installer responsibilities are the installation of in-bin monitoring systems, managing functionality, and service work for installed monitoring systems. Site preparation and installation of grain dryers. Provide a high level of customer service to customers, clear communication to vendors, and provide process improvements with installations and products.

  • Installation, service, and repair work for in-bin monitoring systems.
  • Installation, service, and repair work on grain dryers.
  • Verifying proper set up and functionality of monitoring systems and grain dryers.
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot reported/discovered issues, repair/replace parts as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge for all products.
  • Participation in training activities with brands such as AGI NECO, AGI SureTrack, Zimmerman, and other brands in the monitoring and conditioning field.
  • Read & Understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical procedures.
  • Document service, warranty work, communication with vendors and customers.

Qualifications

  • Field service experience preferred, electrical knowledge.
  • Awareness of proper grain bin safety standards.
  • Computer/tablet literacy with online software, Word/Excel
  • Hands-on Mechanical experience, Basis Electrical
  • The ability to climb ladders/stairs, lift materials over 75lbs, work in confined spaces and work at heights over 50’.

Requirements

  • Perform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety and environmental regulations.
  • Wear appropriate PPE for task being performed.
  • Regular, timely attendance.
  • Proper documentation of daily tasks, customer communication.
  • Willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:

Fabricators at Valley View Agri-Systems play an essential role in our team, working directly with the Shop Foreman and staff to ensure the fabrication of high-quality agricultural and commercial construction items. This position offers an opportunity for growth into a lead role within our shop crew.

Key duties include:

  1. Collaborating with the Shop Foreman to understand, plan, and execute fabrication tasks.
  2. Leading and coordinating with the shop crew to ensure efficient operation.
  3. Fabricating and assembling various components as per requirements and blueprints.
  4. Performing TIG welding on stainless steel materials, with a focus on industrial food-grade items.
  5. Reading and interpreting blueprints for fabrication processes.
  6. Adhering to all safety procedures and maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  7. Participating in continuous improvement and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. Proven experience in industrial food-grade fabrication.
  2. Expertise in stainless steel TIG welding.
  3. Proficiency in advanced fabrication techniques.
  4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively.
  5. Previous experience in a “Crew Leader” role.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  7. High degree of attention to detail.
  8. 7AM-4PM and willing to work overtime as required.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented full-time Lead Designer. VVA is looking for an individual that works directly with customers, account managers, construction managers, and fabrication shop to create designs and drawings from project concept to closeout.

Qualified candidate must create concept layout and design, review specifications, travel to job sites to get dimensional information for site layout using tape measure, total station, and/or 3D scanner, and participate in the planning and quoting process by recommending and developing revisions to standard product designs, drafting procedures, systems, and improve department operation and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of drafting related career field required, Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Preferred 4 years of experience in a related field of bulk material handling such as grain and feed.
  • Preferred 4 years of experience using 2D CAD software or 3D software
  • 3D design preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Basic understanding of mathematics, general construction, and technical skills in computer aided drafting
  • Estimating experience, a plus.

Qualifications:

Experience with layout and design of conveyance and grain storage systems.   The ability to effectively communicate and interact with co-workers, at all levels within the organization, in a positive manner. 

The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.  The ability to stay focused, pay attention to detail, plan, and take ownership. Must be a person of passion and integrity, who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.  Prior construction knowledge is a preference.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience welding, fabrication, industrial equipment installation required
  • Read and interpret complex blueprint or CAD drawings to establish crew activities for project completion
  • Review, understand, and communicate work assignments and plans to the crew/team
  • Plan for and provide the 6 elements of work to the field team everyday: Material, Manpower, Information, Equipment, Environment, and Tools
  • Willing to travel from project to project and across multiple states as-needed
  • Valid drivers license to drive company vehicles
  • Meet and exceed project safety, quality, and profit goals for project activities
  • Excellent understanding of OSHA and company safety requirements
  • Excellent understanding of the work site equipment, including operating ability, setup and maintenance requirements
  • Monitor and communicate daily production activity ensuring the field team performs at the desired production levels
  • Communicate project progress and project hurdles on a daily basis
  • Flex with changes in schedule and projects
  • Display innovation when working on projects and always be prepared to think of new ways to become more efficient
  • Welding capabilities and certifications preferred
  • Experience installing material handling and structural steel type products
